Christmas Design project --my baby

Finally me and my group member have done our christmas design project.
how was it?hohohohoo~
my group member-Yen wern, Athirah, Kc and me:P

u know, we made this sculpture until ki siao, almost slept for 3 to 5 hour in a day
when the dead line getting closer and closer, we never sleep** (you can imagine how tired am i and my panda eyes getting darker n darker , my mind is totally blank ! stand also can sleep==)

For our sculpture, we decide to do something different from the cliche idea of making a christmas tree or a sculpture including a figure of santa claus.
After much discussion we came up with this idea, one of Santa Claus' elves playing a saxophone on top of a chimney.

In our sculpture, the elf is shown blowing into a exagerrated and distorted version of sexophone.

as shown on the design of the painting on the sexophone, we tried to add a Malaysian touch to it by batik concept. However, instead of using tradisional batik patterns we altered it to be more simplified and modern version.

Can u guess how long i used to paint on the sexophone? i paint until wan pengsan, even thou some pattern are repeately, i have no idea what to design a batik patterns. But i really enjoy to painting on my sexy sexophone baby's body..haha(clap clap clap***)

At the mouth of sexophone, there are object related to Christmas being projected out.

This is to portray a more magical feel and show that music can bring life.
All this present we use some light empty boxes and newspapers to make the shapes, after that use masking tape to wrapped the shape of the object and paper mache it.

We pening kepala everytime for paper mache for whole scuplture!

You know, paper mache is not easy that u think, we can just spend for whole day for just paper mache the top of the roof( just that)

So everytime we are like wasting lots time to paper mache and paper mache, boring like ==

we die*

all the base we are using bamboo to made it.

whole thing 100%paper mache. Every single part we try to make it nicely(even a hole on anywhere we also try to avoid it)

Thas y we spend alots of time in finishing! we like crazy all the time..@@

But we manage to finish on time and go into finalist on last 2 days( thursday present our big scupture to client from a wellknown's company)

we and our baby sculpture ...lurb it sooooo much! <3

The problem is our baby is the biggest wan compared to others sculpture.We are like so worry about that, but we are just follow the masurement(less then 1 to 2 inch )
